Mafia 2

So, I recently purchased Mafia 2 for the PS3 after fondly remembering the fun I had playing the first one when I'd completed one of the Tomb Raider games and had nothing else to do.  It was great fun - looking back, the graphics were not the best, but I didn't care at the time.  I'm sure in another six years or so, I'll look back and think the graphics of today were mediocre.  Those are the times we're living in!

But, anyway, Mafia was great.  So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that Mafia 2 was coming out last year.  Great stuff!  I recently got a pre-owned copy and was very eager to play it.  So, that evening I settled down with a glass of wine (hey, I know I play video games, but I'm still a girl!) and got ready to battle against some mobs.

Disappointment set in!  The game itself seems ok - if not a little slow, but there is just SO MUCH STORY-TELLING!!  Jeez, I just wanted to carry on with the game and I find myself skipping for ages and then I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing as I've missed the mission requirement.  If you're happy to sit and listen to some gangsters, this game is for you - if not, I probably wouldn't bother.  I would go out and buy The Godfather: The Don's Edition instead!  Now there's a game worth 5 stars!

I will stick with the game until I complete it - I just don't know when that will be.  If it's worth re-reviewing, I'll update.  If not...well, I wouldn't watch this space if I were you!
